God's Law Immutable

"fear God, and give glory to Him" and to worship Him as the Creator of the heavens and the earth. In order to do this, they must obey His law. Says the wise man: "Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." Ecc lesiastes 12:13. Without obedience to His commandments no worship can be pleasing to God. "This is the love of God, that we keep His commandments." "He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination." 1 John 5:3; Proverbs 28:9... ****************************************************************************** God's Law Immutable by Susan Elena Loiacono on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 2:53pm · God's Law Immutable The temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in His temple the ark of His testament." Revelation 11:19. The ark of God's testament is in the holy of holies, the second apartment of the sanctuary. In the ministration of the

Was God's Law Nailed to the Cross?

Was God's Law Nailed to the Cross? In their struggle to find a New Testament scripture that supports their misconception that God's law is "done away," many people point to Colossians 2:14 to "prove" that Christ nailed the law of God to the cross. In fact, this verse becomes a major linchpin in their fallacious argument that Christians are not required to keep God's "harsh Old Testament law." Proponents of such a teaching say that the "handwriting of requirements [ ordinances , KJV]" refers to the law "that was against us." They further claim that Christ "took it out of the way" or abolished the law. Does Colossians 2:14 do away with God's law? What is "the handwriting of requirements"? What really was "nailed . . . to the cross"? Let's carefully examine this scripture to see what Paul is truly saying. First of all, note the context. In verses 11-13, Paul explains what Chris

...Lord, Lord

...Lord, Lord 1. Luk 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord , and do not the things which I say? · Living out your life to emulate Christ is of the great importance, and not just proclaiming and boasting of your self-righteous works. · You need to build your life on the Rock of Christ, or your life will fall apart as the sand upon a moving sea. 2. Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord , shall enter into the kingdom of heaven ; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord , have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you : depart from me, ye that work iniquity. · Self cannot be possessed and yet still believe you can enter the kingdom of God. 3. Mat 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen . · In

Does It Matter Which Day You Keep?

Does It Matter Which Day You Keep? Why so much disagreement over the right day for worship? Does it really matter? Whose opinion counts? What day did Jesus keep? Should Christians keep the same day — or some other? Is the calendar mixed up? Has time been lost? This article gives plain Bible answers to these questions so important to YOU! Several years ago two friends of mine were traveling through the Middle East on an educational tour. Included in the group were several professors, men of higher learning. As the group toured the port of Haifa, Israel, the guide remarked: "You Americans are seeking to get a four-day work week. We already have a four-day week here. Some of our shopkeepers close on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!" The guide's meaning was clear. In Israel, many of the Arabs are Moslem and therefore keep Friday as their day of worship. Many of the Jews regard Saturday as the day of rest. But the Christian-professing population generally observes Sun

Lip Service Religion

Lip Service Religion If thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day. Isaiah 58:10 . There is a spurious experience that is prevailing now everywhere in regard to the love of Jesus—that we must dwell on the love of Jesus, that faith in Jesus is all we need—but these souls must be instructed that the love of Jesus in the heart will lead to humility of life and obedience to all His commandments. "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him" ( 1 John 2:4 ). The love of Jesus that goes no farther than the lips will not save any soul, but be a great delusion Some who claim to love Jesus are deceivers and all their religion is lip service. It does not transform the character. It does not reveal the inward working of grace. They do not show that they have ever learned in Christ’s school the lessons of meekness and lo

In the Midst of the Fire

In the Midst of the Fire Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 10:32 . A confession of Christ means something more than bearing testimony in social [prayer] meeting. We have a different confession to make from that which we have made; and we shall have to make it under different circumstances. The three Hebrews were called upon to confess Christ in the face of the burning fiery furnace. They had been commanded by the king to fall down and worship the golden image which he had set up, and threatened that if they would not, they should be cast alive into the fiery furnace, but they answered, "We are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou

REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY

REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY Psalms 33: 6 & 9 "By The Word of The Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. For He spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast." Jesus, The Word of God, by His Divine power, simply said, "Let it be" and there it was; the world and all things that are in it , whether man or beast, plants or rocks, river and streams and everything in the water came into existence. Colossians 1: 16 "For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: And after He finished creating this world, it was Jesus, that came to Adam & Eve and spoke with them. The Father remained on His Throne in heaven, and the Holy Spirit worked with Christ for man’s salvation. It was Jesus who spoke to Enoch, and Noah, to Abraham and Isaa
