SABBATH ?????

In a recent Catholic church newsletter it stated, "Perhaps the boldest thing, the most revolutionary change the Church ever did, happened in the first century. The holy day, the Sabbat...h, was changed from Saturday to Sunday. 'The Day of the Lord' [dies domini] was chosen, not from any direction noted in the Scriptures, but from the Church's sense of its own power..... People who think ...that the Scriptures should be the sole authority, should logically become [Seventh-Day] Adventists, and keep Saturday holy." Saint Catherine Catholic Church Sentinel, Algonac, Michigan, May 21, 1995.

No Scriptural Support

"Sunday is a Catholic institution and its claim to observance can be defended only on Catholic principles..... From beginning to end of Scripture there is not a single passage that warrants the transfer of weekly public worship from the last day of the week to the first." Catholic Press, Sydney, Australia, August 1900.

The Vatican's Mark of Authority

"Sunday is our mark of authority..... The church is above the Bible, and this transference of sabbath observance is proof of that fact." The Catholic Record, London, Ontario, September 1, 1923.

Catholic Catechism

"Question: Which is the Sabbath day?"

"Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath."

"Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?"

"Answer: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church in the Council of Laodicea (A.D. 336) transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday." The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, by Peter Geiermann, 50.

God Is With Me !

God Is With Me! Let me tell you something of my friend, And as I do, perhaps all of you will recognize The value of my prize. For all my worldly wealth, My physical and mental health, In storm or weather fair Depends upon His care. I've learned each day, to choose the way, To loose my fears, And though troubles press, With sore distress upon my soul, I know somehow that He is with me now And will be through the passing years. Yes - He is with me Even though in thought I've often caught myself So far away from Him- And even though I sometimes join the race- Away from his Amazing Grace, I always turn around to find He's there, Behind my fleeing foot, To put His hand upon my heart To draw me back To live with Him - Apart. He is with me, Especially when my other friends misunderstand The methods that I use, Or when they refuse to see That He and I are friends, Working silently to make 'not' brake the strongholds of the faith. Honoring God in the home

Evening Devotional Reading May 23, 2016 From That I May Know Him Honoring God in the Home      Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16. {TMK 149.1}      This is what we need in our households. There is in it no fault-finding, no harshness; but peace, and joy, and rest in the Lord. . . . God calls for loving service. He calls upon parents to speak lovingly and tenderly to their children. Let them see that you think they help you. Give them responsibilities to bear, small ones at first, and larger ones as they grow older. Never, never, let them hear you say of them, "They hinder me more than they help me.". . .  {TMK 149.2}      How many there are who forget that the home is a school in which children are trained to work either for Christ or Satan. Fathers and mothers, reme...
