Google to go way of Ma Bell?
"According to a published report in the NY Times, this has the potential to evolve into "the biggest showdown between the United States government and a major technology company since the Microsoft antitrust trial that began in the late 1990s." And it could take years to investigate. It is reported to be the most serious legal threat yet to the Internet giant." -Just as Ma Bell was split up, Google may be split as well. But what most fail to realize is, it's not as genuine a split as some believe. Google will still have control over the basics infrastructure via their servers just as Ma Bell has had control over all phone lines since day one. Anyone that's moved from State to State knows, yes, you may have to use a different company to hook up your phone, but it's Ma Bell's lines you're still using. Today there are many up and coming search engines out there. But the U.S. Government only has a contract with Google. So why would the powers that be want to split up Google? It's a ruse. By splitting it up, they can cause the other engines to use Google's servers to better their engines by using the "monopoly" ploy. In the end, this will allow the Government to keep Google's infrastructure intact within all the search engines that buy into their con, just as all phone lines lead to one source, all search engines will do so as well. After all, one source is far easier to control than thousands.
